Amy is a MPH candidate in the Environmental Science & Engineering department at Gillings School of Public Health concentrated in Environment, Climate, and Health (ECH). She received her B.S.P.H in Epidemiology of Indiana University where she conducted microbiology laboratory research focused on investigating the effects of estradiol on BEAS-2B cells and pro-inflammatory cytokine gene expression. Now, in the Brown Lab she is contributing to a project focused on the efficacy of Far-UVC technology on eradicating eskapee pathogens on hospital surfaces. Her research interests include environmental microbiology, environmental justice, and microbial risk in a built environment.
