Katharine completed her master’s at UNC in the Environmental Engineering program. Her undergraduate degree is in environmental engineering from the University of Alabama. Her current projects include creating communication products to aid water monitoring programs in low-resource settings and research into fecal sludge management, particularly the characteristics and pathogen flow associated with emptying practices. She is also particularly interested in environmental justice issues pertaining to WaSH and communicating science to the public. Katharine is now working for the Indian Health Service in Minnesota.
