Anderson

Post-Doc Research Associate
Gillings School of Global Public Health, UNC-CH

Darcy is a postdoctoral research associate with the Water Institute. She currently manages the Institute’s research portfolio on WASH in non-household settings, with a focus on healthcare facilities and schools. She also provides cross-cutting support to other projects on qualitative and implementation science methods. Darcy is interested in assessing what drives successful implementation and sustainability of WASH programs. Her work focuses on identifying success drivers at different levels, from individual (e.g., implementer knowledge and attitudes) to organizational (e.g., feedback and incentive mechanisms) to systemic (e.g., financing and national policies). She is passionate about applied research that aims to understand how and why programs function well in different contexts, then identifies opportunities for data-driven improvement. Darcy earned her PhD in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her MPH in Global Health from Emory University, where her training was focused on mixed-methods social science research and implementation science.
