Programming Brief: Using participatory processes to engage informal settlements and enabling actors in improving WaSH
WaSH programmers and practitioners designing and implementing programs where they will engage with residents of informal settlements. Development experts increasingly acknowledge the need for participatory approaches to development. This brief provides guidance on ways that programs and policies can encourage local ownership, self-reflection and analysis of WaSH situations and solutions, as well as encourage and support collaboration with local enabling actors to achieve positive change.
