Building linkages between rural water and democracy, human rights and governance to help reach SDG 6

Convening Organizations: Global Environment & Technology Foundation (GETF); Global Partners for Development (GPfD); Global Water Institute at The Ohio State University (OSU); Global Water Challenge (GWC); U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID); U.S. Water Partnership (USWP); Water Point Data Exchange (WPDx) - Good water governance is critical for reach SDG 6 in rural areas. This session will present research on how trust, accountability, transparency and equity could enhance rural water services. Presenting findings from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, the session will highlight approaches, technologies, tools and identify the private sector’s role.
