Hai-Ryung Sung

PhD program, Maternal and Child Health
Advisor: Professor Jamie Bartram

Hai-Ryung Sung has a M.P.H from the University of North Carolina. While studying in the Department of Maternal and Child Health, she realized that additional research is still needed in the field of water, sanitation and hygiene as it relates to maternal and child health. Her research is focused on addressing maternal and child health through improved WaSH interventions and behavior change at health care facilities, with particular attention to the delivery environment in Cambodia. She hopes her research will contribute to reductions in morbidity and mortality among mothers and children, improving the overall quality of life for vulnerable people in Cambodia. She is a Rotary Peace Fellow alumnus.
