Silvia

Landa

Graduate Student

Silvia A. Landa is a Research Assistant at the Water Institute and a first-year Ph.D. student in the Environment Sciences and Engineering department. She has a master's degree in civil and environmental engineering from Utah State University, focusing on water resource management and hydrology. Before joining the Water Institute, she worked in Plan International Indonesia, managing a WASH project with a greater emphasis on equality and inclusion, starting from community-level behavior change activities to advocacy for national regulations. During her work with Plan, Silvia joined climate-resilient inclusive WASH research and integrated water management action research. Before joining Plan, She also provided consultancy work for UNICEF Indonesia in the WASH sector. Her research now will focus on understating factors influencing government decision-making in the water and sanitation sector, especially on issues related to climate resilience. Silvia has a Fulbright scholarship for PhD, and got a PRESTASI scholarship from USAID Indonesia for a master’s degree.
